Property Overview

Cholmeley Lodge, located on Cholmeley Park in Highgate, London N6, is a distinguished Grade II-listed residential building exemplifying Art Deco and Streamline Moderne architectural styles. Designed by architect Guy Morgan, it was constructed between 1934 and 1935. The building comprises 54 flats arranged over six storeys, featuring a distinctive scalloped façade formed by three curved concave blocks, providing private parking at the rear for residents and their visitors.

Project Overview

In collaboration with the management company, we identified the rear shared car park as the ideal location for the EV charging solution. The installation serves 8 available bays . The charging stations operate on a “charge and move” system to ensure efficient use of space, allowing residents to access the bays as needed.

An initial energy assessment  and further metering analysis revealed that the site’s existing electrical supply was sufficient to support the charging stations.

We installed a new O-PEN distribution network board that feeds all the solution and houses a central point of isolation for emergencies and maintenance.

To prevent overloads and enhance efficiency, smart load-balancing technology was integrated into the system, ensuring even distribution of the electrical load across all active charging stations.

Installation Details

Given the open design of the car park, we carefully planned cable routes to preserve the estate’s aesthetics and landscaping. The charging stations are mounted to the façade away from possible care strikes and located inn a way that up to 10 cars can access these point from various parking bays.

The entire system is now fully operational and integrated with the Future-Tap billing platform, providing residents with an easy, efficient way to access and manage their EV charging needs.
