Overview
Future Fire Systems successfully completed a full Grade A, L2 wireless fire alarm upgrade at Carlton Mansions, a residential development comprising 10 individual blocks. The new system provides full BS 5839-1:2025 compliance and ensures enhanced fire detection and evacuation capability throughout the estate.
The installation was delivered using the Cygnus SmartNet platform — providing robust wireless connectivity, rapid installation, and minimal disruption to residents.

Phase 1 focused on the replacement of the existing control panels and all communal area devices, ensuring immediate restoration of system integrity and compliance.
Phase 2 involved the installation of individual heat detectors within each apartment, timed strategically for September to coincide with the end of the summer holidays and maximise resident availability.

Challenges & Solutions
One of the primary challenges was gaining coordinated access to all apartments across the 10 blocks. To overcome this, the Future Fire Systems team worked closely with the managing agent and residents to establish a structured access schedule, ensuring smooth progression and minimal disruption.
This proactive planning allowed the works to proceed efficiently and safely, with clear communication at each stage.
