Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Estimator, preferably in Construction/Manufacturing/etc.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and costs.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, PlanSwift, Excel).
  • Excellent math and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine scope of work.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor quotes, and time requirements.
  • Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate scoping.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide value engineering options when applicable.
  • Prepare and present cost estimate reports and proposals to management or clients.
  • Maintain and update a database of pricing, historical costs, and vendor/supplier information.
  • Assist with bid preparation and submission for tenders or proposals.
  • Stay updated with market trends, pricing changes, and new materials or technologies.
