Property Overview
Wimbledon Hill Park is one of South West London’s most prestigious residential developments, situated within beautifully landscaped grounds off Copse Hill in Wimbledon. Developed by Berkeley Homes, the scheme occupies the historic site of the former Atkinson Morley Hospital, itself located on land once associated with the ancestral home of the 2nd Duke of Wellington. Today, the development combines luxury apartments, townhouses and penthouses with premium resident facilities including concierge services, a private gym, cinema room, landscaped gardens and secure underground parking.
The development is renowned for its exceptional build quality, extensive private parkland and its desirable location close to Wimbledon Village and Wimbledon Common, making it one of the area’s most sought-after residential addresses.

Project Overview
Following the successful delivery of several previous EV charging projects, Future Group was instructed by Encore Estates to design and install a fully future-proofed EV charging infrastructure solution serving the development’s large shared covered car park.
The car park accommodates more than 90 parking spaces, with residents benefiting from either single or dual allocated bays. Prior to the project, residents had no access to dedicated EV charging facilities, creating a significant barrier for those wishing to transition to electric vehicles.
Future Group designed and installed a complete passive infrastructure network, ensuring every leaseholder has access to EV charging when required, without the need for further disruptive infrastructure works in the future.
The installation comprised:
- 57 passive EV charging bays
- Easee Ready smart-connected backplates
- Future Group QR-code activation system
- TAP Electric billing and management integration
- Smart load-balancing technology
- Dedicated fire safety disconnection system
The project successfully secured just under £30,000 in OZEV infrastructure grant funding, significantly reducing the overall cost of the installation and allowing the development to future-proof its parking facilities in a highly cost-effective manner.
Installation Details
The project was delivered over approximately three to four weeks with careful planning and coordination to ensure there was no disruption to residents, vehicle access or day-to-day operation of the development.
Each passive bay was fitted with an Easee Ready backplate, allowing residents to activate their charging point quickly and efficiently when required through a simple QR-code process.
The infrastructure has been integrated with the TAP Electric platform, providing:
- Resident billing and payment processing
- Usage monitoring
- Remote management capabilities
- No financial burden on the development’s service charge budget
To ensure maximum safety and compliance, the installation incorporates a dedicated fire disconnection system designed in line with current industry guidance, including recommendations published by leading engineering consultancy ARUP.
Smart load-balancing technology has also been incorporated throughout the network, dynamically managing available electrical capacity and ensuring the system remains efficient and scalable as EV adoption continues to grow.
Delivering a System Designed for Life
By implementing a fully passive infrastructure strategy, Wimbledon Hill Park now benefits from an EV charging network capable of supporting residents for many years to come.
The solution eliminates the need for future invasive cabling works, reduces future installation costs for leaseholders and provides a seamless pathway towards increased EV ownership across the development.
This project represents another Future Group installation where careful planning, grant funding expertise and future-focused design have combined to deliver a practical, scalable and fully compliant EV charging solution.
