CCTV & Security Infrastructure Upgrade

Location: Lancaster Gate, London W2
Sector: Residential / Public Realm

Project Overview

Barrie House is a residential apartment building situated adjacent to Kensington Gardens in Bayswater, London. Following a series of recent security breaches, the client required a comprehensive CCTV solution to improve site security, surveillance coverage, and operational monitoring across the property.

Future Group was appointed to survey and assess all areas of the site, producing detailed system specifications and design drawings to support the client’s review and approval process. The project required the installation of a modern IP CCTV system while maintaining the architectural integrity and visual appearance of the building.

The Challenge

The project required the sympathetic integration of a new CCTV system into an existing residential environment, with minimal visual impact to both internal and external areas of the property.

A key requirement was the implementation of a resilient CCTV infrastructure capable of supporting secure remote access, multiple viewing locations, and reliable footage retention without risk of data loss.

Key challenges included:

  • Designing compliant camera positions and cable routes within an occupied residential building
  • Minimising the visual impact of cameras and containment throughout the site
  • Achieving effective coverage across multiple parking and access areas
  • Providing robust network infrastructure for the new IP CCTV system
  • Ensuring resilient storage capability to protect critical footage
  • Delivering reliable remote monitoring and management functionality

The Solution

Future Group designed and delivered a tailored CCTV and networking solution to meet the operational and aesthetic requirements of the development.

Works included:

  • Installation of multiple camera types across the site to achieve full design compliance
  • Deployment of new IP CCTV networking infrastructure throughout the building
  • Integration of wireless bridge technology to support connectivity across challenging areas
  • Installation of resilient storage systems with built-in redundancy for enhanced data protection
  • Configuration of remote access and multi-location viewing capabilities
  • Deployment of a tandem-view camera with integrated 25x IR speed dome to provide comprehensive coverage of the large front external area

The combination of fixed and specialist camera technologies ensured optimal surveillance coverage while maintaining a discreet and sympathetic installation throughout the property.

The Results

The completed system delivered a significant improvement in site security, monitoring capability, and operational resilience for Barrie House.

Project outcomes included:

  • Clear 24/7 full-colour CCTV imagery across all key areas of the site
  • Enhanced surveillance coverage of parking and external access areas
  • Secure remote management for live viewing, monitoring, and image retrieval
  • Built-in storage redundancy to protect critical footage
  • Reliable remote monitoring of all CCTV equipment and infrastructure
  • A discreet installation that preserved the appearance of the building

The project successfully provided Barrie House with a modern, resilient, and highly effective CCTV solution tailored to the needs of a premium residential environment.
