One Tower Bridge, London SE1
The aim of the project was to increase footfall along the walkway, encouraging visitors into the commercial zone and eateries and, where possible, to help improve the experience of guests and visitors using a bespoke lighting solution.
Future Lighting Solution
Overlooking the jaw-dropping Tower Bridge and River Thames, Duchess Walk is a pedestrian walkway running between two rows of luxury residential blocks that sit above rows of restaurants, smaller food outlets and quirky coffee shops.
Following a successful design brief and outline plan, our client opted for a suspended festoon lighting system to illuminate the entire walkway.
After structure surveys and design plans were developed, submitted and signed-off, we were ready to start this exciting tailor-made lighting solution.
The installation was completed over a two-week period. We used LED 1w Warm-White 50,000hrs lamps spaced 1 metre apart. The lamps span the width of the walkway running along a 120 meter length with a catenary support. Visitors to this vibrant part of London can enjoy 288 meters of festoon supporting 290 LED lamps that gently twinkle and sway in the wind.
On completion of the project, the outcome was stunning, our clients were thrilled, and the commercial tenants believe our lighting solution is the perfect way to tempt visitors to venture further down this charming walkway.
